On Tuesday they ripped out the first ball return (L-23/24) so they
could determine what logistical challenges existed. Over the next
week and a half they replaced them all.
The first six lanes done.

And now only six left to do!

We also decided that the upgrade wouldn't be complete without new
Cappings and Dividers, so they have also been replaced. They may not
make you bowl better, but they do look good.
As with any project of this magnitude, there are a some glitches. One
of which was down right funny. As the installers got down to the last
four lanes they found out that one of the panels was made wrong.
Some how the imprint in the lane surface was set crooked. The
problem is in the panel that serves as both slide area (of the
approach), and heads (at the first of the lane) If you look at the
picture below, you might see the problem.

I just wanted you to know that
this lane is neither designed for
bowlers with astigmatism, nor for
those who can't walk in a straight
line. Although this irregularity is
amusing, the Brunswick people
insisted on replacing the panel. It
was replaced on June 25th. So
there went your last excuse.
